L & R Headquarters
Brooklyn, NY
StudioSC was tapped to develop the corporate headquarters for L& Distributors in the newly transformed Industry City. The main challenge of this project was creating an office with many distinct functions inside a 16,000 square foot industrial canvas. StudioSC paid special attention to program a layout that felt open, while also generating task specific spaces that felt cohesive with the overall design. Creating a subtle boundary around the entire perimeter separated function without closing off the space. Existing elements of the building structure were incorporated into the design to create a modern office while connecting to the history of this site.

EXISTING CONDITIONS
The interior design introduces unique white cube office boxes strategically positioned throughout the open floor plan. These cubes provide distinct working environments for each function while maintaining visual continuity. The design style is clean and modern, utilizing industrial materials like glass partitions, exposed steel, and concrete flooring. The sleek, minimalist aesthetic of each office contrasts with the larger, raw industrial surroundings, creating a dynamic interplay between private and collaborative spaces.

EXISTING PLANS
The original industrial space was transformed from a raw, open warehouse into a modern office environment. Before the redesign, the space was expansive but lacked the functional layout needed for a corporate headquarters. The proposed design incorporates a structured flow, where open work areas are balanced with enclosed offices, all while respecting the building’s original architecture. Key structural elements, such as exposed beams and high ceilings, were retained to preserve the industrial character, enhancing the contrast between the old and the new.
The design incorporates a mix of natural light and open layouts, creating an inviting workspace. Thoughtful material choices like light woods and soft textures enhance the modern office feel, while accent colors and bespoke furniture add warmth and character. This cohesive design promotes productivity and creativity, making the headquarters a bright, welcoming environment tailored to the company’s needs.
