Bar Prima

New York, NY

Design for a new wine bar in a vanilla box retail space on the upper east side of Manhattan. The concept came from trying to create an intimate space that reflected modern forms with weathered and rustic materials. A clean lighter entry space separates itself from the darker interior space with boundaries formed by corten steel ceiling divisions and clean, white bartop dividing the space in the opposite direction.

The interior of Bar Prima creates a unique atmosphere with soft, ambient lighting paired with weathered wood accents and rustic elements evoke a cozy yet contemporary feel. The juxtaposition of clean lines with industrial touches, like corten steel and subtle contrasts between the light entry and darker back areas, forms a balanced and layered experience.
