About the Project

With two project on the same side of a short block in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, StudioSC had an opportunity to define an architectural language that tied more into the adjacent historic buildings on both sides of the street. 84 Meserole Ave. has a simple yet powerful expression of its facade with deeper than usual window recesses, creating a monolithic front accented by timeless brickwork and detailing. The top floor Penthouse opens up full glass, following the rythm of the facade below, while light filled interiors offer a subtle take on luxury homes.

The façade’s deep window recesses add dimensionality and shadow play, creating a dynamic interaction with sunlight throughout the day. The timeless brickwork lends a sense of permanence to the building, while the overall monolithic form exudes strength and simplicity. This design approach subtly blends modern sensibilities with a nod to the surrounding historic context, ensuring the building feels both contemporary and rooted in place.

Inside, the light-filled interiors create a serene, open environment that enhances the sense of space. The living areas are designed for modern living, with large windows that frame views of the neighborhood, flooding the space with natural light. The use of clean lines and neutral finishes provides a sophisticated canvas, allowing residents to personalize the space while maintaining an air of understated luxury.
