33 Franklin Street

33 Franklin street is a mixed use residential and commercial development, located in the heart of the Greenpoint Brooklyn, our studios’ home neighborhood. Touching three street frontages over a 21,000 SF lot, this ground up development is currently under construction. We examined and explored how to find a balance of context and forward movement for our design, while activating Franklin Street by cutting open a large section against our neighbor which draws residents and visitors alike to a serene, planted courtyard for the main commercial space entry and the main residential lobby. The streetscape was considered on all three frontages and responds to each one uniquely in massing and contextually similar in design.
