303 Wythe Avenue

Brooklyn, NY

About the Project

303 Wythe was formerly a single-story brick warehouse situated on a highly visible corner in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The design strategy retained the existing structure as a base and introduced a new, multi-story volume above. Rather than defaulting to the typical glass-on-brick addition, the team sought a more integrated and contextually sensitive solution. By extending the rhythm of the warehouse and articulating a layered massing above, the result is a cohesive composition that respects the pedestrian scale while contributing a contemporary presence to the evolving streetscape.

The transformation is stark: a simple warehouse gave way to an activated corner with large storefront windows, planted terraces, and clearly articulated residential entries. The new design bridges the old and new with sensitivity. The project both echoes and elevates the industrial vernacular, helping redefine the block’s visual identity.
