109 Devoe Street
Brooklyn, NY

About the Project
109 Devoe Street seeks to redefine the architectural typology that we have been accustomed to, pushing the envelope, literally, on private outdoor space and what is possibly for an infill 50 foot wide developement. Done in collaboration with CCA, an architecture studio from Mexico City, StudioSC worked hand in hand with them to craft a concept that would bridge both cities cultures and design into a truly unique project.

The facade is shaped by a series of setbacks and carved negative volumes that create private outdoor spaces along the front and sides of the building. These intentional voids introduce depth and shadow, while open trellis elements weave moments of lightness into the composition. The design balances solidity and openness, offering a dynamic relationship between interior and exterior spaces.

The lobby was designed to counter the sharp, rectilinear volumes of the exterior, opting for softer, rounded curved forms and lighter tones.

The interiors of the building are crafted with a focus on subtle luxury. Custom millwork is thoughtfully integrated throughout, bringing warmth and refinement to the spaces. Kitchens and bathrooms are designed with a quiet elegance, using carefully selected materials and finishes that create a serene, understated atmosphere with moments of bold materials standing out.
