About the Project
Situated on a unique triangle lot with three street frontages, 1 Wythe Avenue is the future home for the iconic Brooklyn Brewery along with office spaces for lease. We had to work with stricter massing requirements due to a city planning special permit being granted, STUDIOSC sought to create a timeless structure that reflected the ongoing change at this pivotal juncture between Williamsburg and Greenpoint neighborhoods, Several new projects are underway in this once low rise industrial area and our design process was geared towards what this eventual urban fabric would look like and how our project would impact this developing landscape. Two new public plazas anchor the project on both ends, inviting pedestrians to engage the site.

The structural design of 1 Wythe Avenue is characterized by its sharp angles and dynamic geometry, responding to the triangular lot’s unique form. The use of brick and metal pays homage to the area’s industrial past while integrating modern elements like expansive glass panels. The repetitive pattern of windows and terra cotta detailing adds a rhythmic quality to the facade, balancing both strength and elegance. The building’s form is carefully crafted to stand as a landmark, anchoring this rapidly transforming neighborhood.
