STUDIOSC was commissioned by a family to completely re-envision a very compact midtown duplex apartment as a pied-a-terre for the family. An existing narrow spiral staircase was structurally opened up for a more ample sized, curved stair connecting both floors as a home and serving as the center piece of the design. All surfaces, lighting, windows, kitchen and bathrooms were redesigned to create a real sense of comfort within the small and narrow spaces.
